Submission Guidelines

How to submit:

Electronic submissions ONLY. Why? It's better for the environment, cheaper for you, and easier for me.

Submission address for all submissions from authors:

Unsolicited submissions sent to any other email address, or hard copy submissions, will not receive a reply.

Please send an email with information about you and your project (including your full name and contact details) to query.isabelwhite@googlemail.com, and please cut and paste the first chapter or 10 pages of your book into the bottom of your message. I do not open unsolicited email attachments.

UK-based clients preferred as I work closely with my authors.

What I'm looking for:

If you write traditional romance or traditional fantasy, I'm probably not going to be the agent for you; apart from that my tastes are fairly eclectic. I welcome nonfiction projects from writers who are experts in their field, and I love compelling, intelligent fiction.

While I do represent film and television rights in my clients' books, I do not represent playwrights or screenwriters. I also do not represent poetry or purely academic works.

Please note:

My most important criterion when choosing clients is that I must absolutely love their writing; please be aware this means that I do sometimes turn down potentially viable projects for subjective reasons.
